Courses

Prepare for the future of life sciences

Our overarching educational goal is to instill a deep understanding of the structural and mechanistic details of important biological systems that form the basis of cellular life. Our MLS curriculum will provide understanding of important cellular processes in a level of depth not currently offered by other degrees on this campus.

Modern advances in the life sciences also heavily rely on high-throughput DNA sequencing technologies coupled with bioinformatic analysis. There is an ongoing revolution of newly developed high-resolution structural biology techniques that are revealing the structure and function of many proteins and cellular organelles. This curriculum will introduce you to these methodologies and application of these techniques.

New courses with a modern approach

With this as a foundation, we have designed several new 400-level Molecular Life Sciences courses that build on these principles. These courses are open to all eligible students, not only Molecular Life Sciences majors.
